Autumn is hands down my favorite season for several reasons, one being that I love any opportunity to layer clothing. While Summer limits my layering options (it’s too hot to do all of that), with the right pieces I can still make layering work without overheating myself. The key? Lightweight layering pieces like summer shrugs.
Summer is a great time to play around with bold and bright prints as well, so when I saw this vibrant yellow and multi-colored print shrug at Goodwill in Derby, I knew it was coming home with me. At $3.99, I couldn’t pass it up, especially because it has so many colors within the print to play with. I like wearing it with my favorite black jumpsuit, but I also have a vibrant blue jumpsuit that it pairs perfectly with. The material is silky but light, and it’s got a looser fit so there is lots of room for airflow on these hot summer days!
Another fun find was this $3.99 palm-leaf print shrug that I also picked up at the Derby Goodwill. This print is something I feel like I’m seeing everywhere this summer and I love that it gives fun vacation vibes. I aspire to serve bougie vacation auntie looks as much as possible, so this definitely fits the bill haha! I also like the soft coral tassels at the bottom of the piece. This has more of a chiffon feel which is super lightweight and breathable.
Most of my outer layer pieces are from Goodwill at this point, and I love that a lightweight, summer shrug can add a little bit of fun to any outfit. Check out Goodwill for your next Summer find and until next time, Happy Hunting!
