Hi, my name is Tamara and I am obsessed with leopard print. I’ve always been a fan of fun prints, but in the last few years especially, I find myself gravitating towards leopard print more and more. What started out as one shirt has evolved into shirts, skirts, sweaters, and scarves all in this popular print. Anytime I’m perusing the aisles of Goodwill, you better believe I will stop and check out anything that has leopard print, like this super cute dress I found at the Derby Goodwill!
I legitimately gasped when I saw this hanging on the rack because I immediately knew what it was. Torrid (a very popular plus size retailer) has been collaborating with longtime designer Betsey Johnson recently and I’ve drooled over several pieces in the collection. It is however a little more than I typically like to spend on clothing, so I’ve been relegated to “window” shopping these pieces only. When I saw this dress hanging on the rack at Goodwill I knew I had hit the jackpot because this is one of the Betsey Johnson for Torrid dresses that I had repeatedly looked at, hoping it would end up on sale.
What I like about this dress is that it is ponte knit which is a heavier fabric that keeps its shape well. I also like that it hits somewhere between mini and midi length which means it works for me both in the winter when it’s cold enough for me to wear leggings underneath, and in the spring when the weather starts warming up. The three-quarter length sleeves and skater skirt are also comfortable details that I enjoy. Oh, and did I mention that it has pockets?! Petition to add more pockets to women’s clothing, we love dresses with pockets!
Betsey Johnson is known for her fun, spunky, and edgy style so I love that this dress captures some of that without going to over the top. Plus, this dress was originally $88, and I got it for $6.99 before my 10% preferred shopper’s discount; what a steal!! I follow several other local thrifters and love seeing all of their fun and unique designer finds, who knows what you might find on your own shopping adventures! Until next time, happy hunting!
