Playful Prints

Hello friends! It’s summertime and given the state of the world right now, I’m sure we could all use a little extra sunshine in our lives! There are a lot of things that put a smile on my face, one of those being a good fashion find at Goodwill!

If you asked me to describe my style to you, I’d probably respond with something like “eclectic.” I like a lot of different styles and tend to buy things that make me happy instead of trying to stick to one cohesive type of look. One thing that I’m consistently drawn to though is prints. Ranging from classic (stripes) to more playful (bees), I can’t seem to say no to a fun print! On one of my recent shopping adventures to Goodwill (21st and Amidon) I spotted this adorable umbrella print blouse in my size and was stoked to find such a great piece!

This blouse is made by Modcloth, which is a company known for its whimsical, sometimes kitschy patterns, and vintage vibes. Modcloth can be a little pricey so I was very surprised to not only find this piece at Goodwill, but that it also appeared to look brand new. Typically their tops run in the $40-$50 range and I was able to snag this one for $3.60 with my 10% Preferred Customer Card discount!

I have a thing for 70s fashion, so because this is a bow blouse as well was an added bonus. I really like bow blouses – it’s like having a built in accessory with the shirt. You can wear the tie loose for a relaxed vibe or tied for a more pulled together look. I like to style this particular blouse tucked into a high-waisted skirt with leggings, a stack of bracelets and peep-toe sandals (all from my own wardrobe).

Something about a stellar find at Goodwill makes me excited to go back each time to see what gems I can dig up. Thankfully stores are open again (with precautions in place) so I can get back to it! Happy hunting!
