Dedication to Our Mission

At Goodwill, we recognize the value of every employee’s contribution to our mission. Our staff often work tirelessly, behind the scenes to ensure our clients have every opportunity to live independent and productive lives, and they take pride in their work, which clearly shows.

During an awards ceremony held earlier this year at Ability Point, Genelle Neal, Sr. Director of Client Services and Compliance, and Kaysha Ewing, Direct Support Professional II, were honored for their dedication to empowering individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Genelle received the ‘Professional of the Year’ award, a recognition bestowed upon her by her peers in acknowledgment of her 25 years of service to the disability advocacy community.

Kaysha, on the other hand, was named the ‘Direct Care Staff Member of the Year’ based on a nomination from Chris Leon and his mother Pat Leon.

Both Genelle and Kaysha were pleasantly surprised by the awards. Kaysha said, “It’s an honor I wouldn’t have expected, but it is great to be recognized by my peers for the dedication and hard work we put into serving our clients. I show up to be the best role model I can be and stay compassionate to the individuals we serve.”

While pride in a job well done is often enough to motivate most individuals, peer recognition truly validates all the hard work that goes into it.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Genelle and Kaysha for their well-deserved awards and thank them for their unwavering commitment to our mission.

In addition, we are excited to announce that Goodwill has recently expanded Day Services beyond the Wichita area. To learn more about how we are expanding our mission, please read the details here.
