Goodwill Industries of Kansas Leadership and Board of Directors, along with community partners and local and state officials broke ground on the organization’s newest retail store on Thursday, May 11th.

The ceremony took place on the 2.2 acre property purchased by Goodwill located near 29th & Greenwich in Wichita, Kansas. Dondlinger Construction will oversee the building of the new 25,000-square-foot facility which was designed by Schaefer Architecture. The new store will feature a 12,000-square-foot sales floor and drive-thru donation and employ up to 50 people.

The addition of a new store will help Goodwill generate the funds necessary to support the expansion of mission services like NexStep Alliance and provide support services for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

Landmark Commercial Real Estate was the developer, and the purchase was brokered by ReeceNichols South Central Kansas. Construction will begin immediately on the new $5.1 million facility and Goodwill expects to be open in early 2024.
