Happy December Goodwill shoppers! Tis the season to celebrate light and life, family and friends and try to find a million ways to save a buck while you shop for everybody! Which is why Goodwill is your go-to place for the holidays.
This month, my beautiful friend, Skye, helped me shop for holiday looks. While you’re out there gifting for everyone else, it’s so much fun to shop the Goodwill stores to find new fun looks for yourself and family to wear for family gatherings and holiday parties.
Our first look is perfect for those all-day family meals! This bright and cheery red plaid flannel blouse is cozy and merry all at the same time. We paired it with light denim jeggings for a casual holiday feel.
Next, we found this beautiful muted-green turtleneck, with a fun asymmetrical hemline. If you’ve never played with asymmetrical lines in your outfits – give it a try! When you find the right fit, I think that the unexpected lines can be very figure flattering. The thing I love about this sweater is that it works great as a holiday piece, but extends through lots of seasons because of its toned-down color.
Our next find was this super-comfy blue sweater! This one is great for snow days and hot cocoa, and movie marathons by the fire! My favorite part about this sweater is the unexpected details woven into the hemline, and the zipper sleeve. Another example of the unique pieces you’ll find when you shop Goodwill!
For our last two looks, we put together holiday party outfits. The first is a glamorous black sequin skirt, paired with a bright red tank for a pop of color. Skye added in a black jacket of her own, then we found a Vera Wang bag (with the tags still on!) to complete the look. I love this one because it’s stylish and dressy – but still approachable and fun. You get the comfortable fit of layers and a skirt AND the dressed-up party feel all in the same outfit.
Our final look was a fabulous find in the dress aisle. This black maxi dress was a great fit for Skye and of course, with black, you have year-round versatility. We paired the dress with a fun gold statement necklace, but you could easily dress this outfit up with costume jewels for a fancier feel, or layer it with a casual jean jacket to dress it down.
