If there’s one thing to know about Kris, it’s that he stands up for what’s right. He has never been one to sit back when he sees someone being treated unfairly. That passion, paired with his sharp sense of humor and ability to connect with people, makes him someone you don’t forget.
Kris is also fiercely loyal—to his friends, family, and his favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs. But more than anything, he’s been loyal to his goal: building the skills to succeed in the workplace.
That’s why, in 2016, he joined the Goodwill Day Services Program, determined to grow his patience, communication, and ability to navigate social situations. His hard work paid off. For the past three and a half years, he’s been a bagger and utility clerk at a local grocery store—and not just any bagger. Customers love him so much, they’ll wait in longer lines just to have Kris bag their groceries.
And this year, Kris hit a major milestone—he was promoted to cashier. When he got the news, he was proud. Excited. Ready.
For those of us who have watched his journey, it’s an incredible moment. His dedication, perseverance, and personality have made him a valued part of the team, and we couldn’t be prouder.
So, next time you’re at the grocery store and you spot a well-dressed, Chiefs-loving cashier cracking a joke while keeping the line moving, there’s a good chance it’s Kris. He’s earned his place, and he’s making sure everyone around him feels the impact—one bag, or one scan, at a time.
