Meet our 2025 Thriftfluencers! We received so many incredible submissions, and after careful consideration, we are thrilled to introduce this year’s Thriftfluencers! We can’t wait to showcase how they inspire others to shop sustainably and express themselves through the art of thrift. Follow them along on our Instagram page monthly!
“I thrift because my style refuses to live in just one store, or one era. I pull pieces from every decade, every aesthetic, because dressing up should feel like play. One day it is romantic and lacey, the next it’s leather and attitude. I love the drama. I love the shift. Every piece I find carries a different kind of energy, like it is meant for a different version of me, depending on the day. Thrifting lets me experiment, layer, and create looks that are completely one of a kind. It is not just fashion, it’s alchemy. Goodwill was my FIRST fashion playground! Thrifting has so long been part of my life; I cannot even pinpoint when it began! I learned something so valuable at the Goodwill – fashion does not have to be expensive to be expressive. I feel the proudest when I am head-to-toe in Goodwill finds. The best outfits are FOUND, not just bought. Personal style does not have to be perfect or polished to be powerful. It just has to feel like you. (I am currently wearing my favorite thrifted blazer, and it even has a hole in it – there is proof.)”
“Thrifting is an adventure. As someone who wears a bit of everything and has a distinctively quirky style with a hint of vintage, I do not always find what I am looking for in regular retail stores. But the things that people have kept and donated from their closet cleanouts, grandma’s basement, and even garage sales tend to be special to me. Especially when they are over 20 years old! When I found out that Goodwill was more than just a thrift store after touring their facility, I got so emotional. This organization provides the core things I believe in: education, community, and stability. It is a place that enhances our great city, and the people who are involved make it clear that Goodwill’s mission is for everyone.”
“I love one-of-a-kind style, and I also love lessening the environmental impact on our beautiful planet. Thrifting checks both of those boxes for me! My love for thrifting started at a young age. My mom would take us often to find clothing for school. My passion for secondhand fashion led me to an interest in sewing! I am now an advanced seamstress who loves to alter her thrifted finds.”
“I love thrifting because it is a budget-friendly way to get things I want or need. From fashion, to books, to quirky home decor, I am always able to find something at an affordable price. Plus, it is a great way to support Goodwill in their mission and to shop more sustainably. My love for Goodwill started as a young adult trying to stay stylish on a limited budget; I get complimented on my style a lot, and I love to be able to say, “Thanks, it’s thrifted!” I have been creating content for Goodwill for over five years, and I am so excited to keep sharing my thrifted goodies and to see all the fun things that my fellow Thriftfluencers find!”
“I love thrifting because I can give a second life to a well-loved item instead of getting tossed into the landfill. And who does not enjoy a good hunt for a fun item of clothing or home decor? This is pretty silly, and I do not know how I remember this at all… but a friend and I watched the movie “Aquamarine” and the characters went to a thrift store, which made me very curious to know what our town’s thrift store was like. So, I took my bike a few blocks to the Andover Goodwill. That day I left with a pair of Birkenstock clogs, a pair of jeans, and a black cardigan. After that, I knew I would be back for more goodies!”
