WINFIELD, Kan. – Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters (KSBBBS) and Goodwill Industries of Kansas (GWKS) are partnering this April for Volunteer Recognition Month. The effort will generate support, awareness and funds for mentoring in Cowley County.
“Every donation to Goodwill gives items a second life, and helps eliminate barriers for Kansans seeking opportunities through education, training, and employment,” said Laura Ritterbush, Goodwill Industries of Kansas President and CEO. “Through this partnership, donations made to the Winfield Goodwill in April will also support the important work being done by our friends at Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
For every pound of donated clothing, shoes, and household items, Goodwill will contribute 10 cents to KSBBBS.
Donations can be made at the Winfield Goodwill store during normal business hours at 1908 E 9th Ave. Additional donation locations are located at the Arkansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
“This is another way that people who are already donating to Goodwill can support youth in Cowley County by mentioning KSBBBS when they drop off,” said Debi Clark, KSBBBS Area Manager.
