Every day at Goodwill, we celebrate the joy of thrifting, finding treasures, giving pre-loved items a second life, and supporting our mission: to transform lives and communities through the power of education, training, and employment. This National Thrift Shop Day (August 17th), we’re taking the celebration to the next level… with a secret mission scavenger hunt! 

National Thrift Shop Day is all about recognizing the many benefits of thrift store shopping, including helping the environment, scoring great deals, and supporting local programs that make a real difference.  

At Goodwill, your donations and purchases power our many mission-focused programs: 

• Adult Day Services – empowering individuals with disabilities through skill-building and community engagement. 

• Community Employment – connecting people with meaningful jobs. 

• Adult Education (NexStep Alliance) – helping adults earn diplomas and advance their education. 

• Digital Skills Training – preparing individuals for today’s tech-driven world. 

• Re-Entry Services – offering second chances through education, training, and employment support. 

When you shop or donate with us, you are doing more than giving items a second chance, you’re creating opportunities for people in your local communities. 

The Scavenger Hunt: How It Works 

Beginning August 13th, we will be hiding four $25 Goodwill vouchers at four of our 20 store locations. Your mission: be the first to find one! 

1. Watch our social media stories daily for clues. 
2. Decode the clue to figure out which store has the voucher. 
3. Search the store and be the first to find it. 
4. Bring it to the register to claim your $25 prize! 

The Rules 

• Four stores, four vouchers… first come, first win. 

• Clues will only be posted in our social media stories. 

• Be kind to staff and fellow treasure hunters. 

• No purchase necessary. 

• We’ll post winners here and on our social outlets once each voucher is claimed! 

It’s your chance to mix your love of thrifting with a dash of mystery and adventure. Who knows? You might uncover the hidden cart and score a thrifted treasure along the way!
