Styling a Little Black Dress

A little black dress or LBD tends to be something that’s on most styling lists as far as being a wardrobe staple. I’m a person who likes a lot of fun colors and bold prints in my wardrobe, but I do like to have an LBD handy because they can be styled a variety of ways to fit whatever vibe I’m going for that day. As I was perusing the aisle of the Derby Goodwill, I found the perfect LBD for summer, a spaghetti strap, netted number with an adjustable straps and side slits. Perfect for when I want to look put together but stay cool, and at $7.99, an absolute steal. Here are the 3 ways I’ve been styling this find for summer.

For a night out I like to pair my thrifted find with a layered gold chain belt, platform sandals, a stack of gold bangles (also found out Goodwill for $1.99 several years ago) and a vintage gold necklace that belonged to my great grandmother.

For a cute but casual brunch look, I like to pair this dress with a sheer, floral print duster (thrifted from Goodwill as well for $3.99), a funky little cow skull necklace, and some flat strappy sandals.

For a more polished, work-appropriate look, I added a thrifted blazer vest ($4.99 at Goodwill in Andover), a black belt with gold details, the same stack of bangles from my first look, a thrifted ring ($1.99 Goodwill in Andover), and a pair of black flat sandals.

I’m still playing around with different ways of styling this dress and I feel like the possibilities are endless! Go check out Goodwill for your multi-functional LBD needs, Happy Hunting!
