Outfits to Beat the Heat

We’ve officially hit the time of year where spring is transitioning into summer in Kansas, which means it could be 55 degrees one day and 92 degrees the next. The varying weather can make it hard to look put together, but Goodwill has me covered with some fun summer dresses!

When I’m shopping Goodwill for summer dresses, easy-breezy is the first thought that comes to mind. That was especially the case with this pretty, pastel peach tie-dye maxi that I found at the Derby location for $7.99. This dress is a nice, lightweight cotton and goes perfectly with two of my favorite Goodwill finds, a rope detail cardigan and a cute cross-body basket bag (both $3.99 at the Derby location) plus a pair of cute summer wedges. Bonus points for being a dress with pockets, gotta love it!

Slip-dresses are also an excellent choice for summer, especially in a looser cut like this knee-length sunflower dress I found. We are the Sunflower State so I thought this would be a perfect way to show a little Kansas pride, plus it pairs perfectly with this goldenrod knit cardigan that was another thrifted find. At $3.99 each (Derby Goodwill), I have a perfectly put-together summer look!

Working in an office during the summer can be challenging (even if it’s a more business casual atmosphere) because while it’s hot outside, it might be a little chilly in that AC. My solution? Pairing a summer dress with a light knit sweater so you get the best of both worlds! This delicate floral print sundress has been a summer staple for a couple of years now, which makes its $6.99 price tag more than worth it (Andover Goodwill). The colors work perfectly with this lightweight, sage green sweater that I found for $3.99 at the Derby Goodwill.

With these deals, I’m ready to rock my summer looks at the next outdoor concert, summer wedding, or while browsing the farmer’s market. Check out Goodwill and find a new summer favorite, Happy Hunting!
