I try to fill my wardrobe with mostly staple items that I can mix and match with each other to create a lot of outfit combinations. Every now and again though, I find a really special or interesting piece that I think is worth adding to the fray to give some of my more basic outfits a little punch. Whether it be a funky pair of shoes, costume jewelry, or a fun handbag, I’m always delighted to find things like this to add to my wardrobe.
Recently as I was pulling into the parking lot at the Goodwill on Maize Road, I spied one such item hanging on one of the handbag racks in the window, a Kelly green, faux crocodile handbag. When I tell you I jumped out of my car in a flash to go into the store and grab the bag, I am not over-exaggerating. Upon closer inspection, I realized I had doubly hit the jackpot because the bag it’s self was brand new with tags! It originally retailed for around 50 bucks, but I was able to get it for $6.99!
What I love about this piece is how vibrant the color is and how the embossed print really makes it look like a luxury item. I’m also a sucker for gold accents, so the gold added to the handles of the bag were also a plus for me. This is definitely not an everyday bag, but it’s a nice outfit topper for a little black dress moment or any other all black ensembles. It’s also a fun addition to more neutral toned outfits to add a splash of color!
This is probably one of my favorite Goodwill finds to date and I can’t wait to see what I find on my next visit! Happy Hunting!
