Hey, y’all! I’m so glad to be back guest blogging for Goodwill Industries of Kansas! As I’ve said before, fall is my absolute favorite time of year and I love all the holidays that come with it! Halloween tops the list for me, with all the spooky decorations and fun looks!
This year I decided I wanted to give a couple of unique gifts to my neighbor and a friend so I headed to a couple of Goodwill locations to get some ideas of what I could make. I found this Halloween themed pot at the Broadway Goodwill and a brand new pumpkin mug at the Derby Goodwill, which gave me the idea to use them as planters for my gifts. I had a vision in my head of adding some decoration to the plants as well and lo and behold I found these adorable cupcake picks at the Maize Goodwill that worked perfectly!
I headed to my local nursery and bought a couple of succulents (fake plants would work, too!) for only a few dollars, making this entire project less than $5 each! I planted the succulents, added the ghost and pumpkin picks and voila! Unique and festive gifts on a budget. I took one over to my neighbor and-SPOILER ALERT-she absolutely loved it!
Don’t forget to head to your nearest Goodwill for all things Halloween – whether you’re looking for decor, costumes or gifts, secondhand is where it’s at!
