At this point in the summer, my thoughts often turn to daydreams of sitting poolside, relaxing in the sun (with thoroughly applied and reapplied sunscreen mind you), and dipping in the cool, refreshing water as needed. *record scratch* The reality is I’m mostly working or running around wishing I was at the pool, especially since I’ve found so many cute ways to accessorize and compliment my swimwear at Goodwill. Who’s thinking about fashion at the pool you ask? This girl, and if you too like to rock a look on your way for a swim, look no further than Goodwill. Your standard swimsuit is baseline for any poolside outfit (mine is from my own wardrobe, but I’ve seen lots of cute options at Goodwill too). Beyond that you can accessorize that swimsuit with a few pieces to make it easy to give a little glam while you’re soaking up the sun.
What is another summertime staple besides your swimsuit? Sunglasses! I am very particular about sunglasses, I like them to be oversized and I like them to coordinate with lots of different looks. Luckily for me, I found this cute pair of tortoise shell sunnies at the Goodwill on Oliver for $1.99 last summer, and they’ve held up through a lot of wear!
Another great accessory for a poolside look is a cute sandal. Now I could stick to something practical like a flat sandal or flip flops, but practical is boring which is the exact opposite of these cute, wedge espadrilles! I found these shoes for $6.99 at Goodwill on Central, and I love that the color is neutral (goes with anything) and it’s a fun look for summer both poolside and with my summer maxi dresses!
My final piece in the poolside outfit puzzle is a bag to carry my things in, especially my sunscreen (are you getting the hint about using SPF lol?). Sometimes I like to carry a cloth tote, but I recently found the cutest bag at Goodwill on Maize Rd for $6.99 that is giving me the perfect summertime vibes. It’s navy and ivory striped pattern has a sailor vibe to it, and I love the cognac-colored straps. It’s the perfect size to carry my things to the pool!
