Game ON!

I don’t know about you, but I love a good old-fashioned game night. Sure, it’s fun to do other various activities with friends and family, but there’s something extra special about sitting around a table with folks and playing board games. Interestingly enough, I didn’t actually own any board games until recently (in fact the only game I owned was Catchphrase), and I typically rely on other friends to supply the fun. What usually happens is I go to the store thinking about buying a board game and then balk at the prices. Luckily for me, Goodwill had me covered in the game department!

I primarily shop Goodwill for clothing and home décor, but I always like to give everything a scan in case there’s a hidden gem for me to spot. I was strolling through the home wares at the Central and West location when I spotted one of my favorite classic board games, Taboo. In addition to this fun fave, I also spotted Quelf and Scattergories which have provided a lot of game night fun for me in the past. Even better, each game was only $1.99 each, so I grabbed all three! With my preferred shoppers discount, I ended up paying under $5.50 for $45 worth of games (all in good condition)!

With games in hand, I enlisted the help of some of my friends and we hit my favorite local dessert spot, Milkfloat, to give the games a little road test. I’m happy to report Game Night went off without a hitch and only the usual amount of trash talking and laughter ensued. Now I’m going to be checking every Goodwill for more games to add to my collection! Happy Hunting!
