Bauble-head

My favorite part of putting together an outfit is adding the finishing touches via accessories. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry as a general rule, but I ALWAYS wear necklaces. Typically I favor long chains with pendants, but occasionally I like to mix up my look with more ornate, “statement” pieces.

Everytime I visit a Goodwill store I take a moment to stop and browse through the jewelry section to see if anything sticks out to me. I’ve gotten pretty lucky on my last couple of visits in finding some standout pieces that have been the perfect cherry on top for some of my summer outfits.

I’ve been wearing a lot of clothes with goldenrod or burnt orange tones lately, so I was super excited to find this orange and gold, tiered necklace on the rack on my way to checking out. It just so happened on that particular visit that I was purchasing a black and floral Forever 21 cami that had the EXACT shade of orange that the teardrop-shaped “jewels” in the necklace were. It seemed like destiny that I’d find both on the same visit (21st and Amidon), and with the necklace only being $1.49 before my 10% preferred customer discount, I couldn’t pass it up.

On a separate trip to the Maize Rd Goodwill, I found a similar tiered style necklace, this time with more rounded stones in mint and gold also for $1.49 before my preferred customer discount. I’ve been loving light blues, greens, and other aquatic colors this summer (as an ocean lover, it reminds me of my time on the west coast), so I thought it would be the perfect addition to my ever-expanding collection!

I love checking out the different jewelry displays at each Goodwill store to see what gems I can uncover, and I am looking forward to continuing to search for the perfect accent pieces! Until next time, happy hunting!
