Goodwill Industries of Kansas COVID-19 Updates

image description

With COVID-19 continuing to spread, it is essential that we do our part to reduce chance of exposure to our employees, the individuals we serve, and our community at-large. Beginning Friday, July 3 we will be following the orders for the state of Kansas and requiring all who enter our stores to wear a face mask or covering. Click here to read the full executive order from the Governor.

The safety of our staff and customers is very important to us. The following additional precautions will continue to be in place:

  • Practicing safe social distancing
  • Enhanced sanitation practices throughout store, including carts, doors & hard surfaces
  • Contactless donations

April 16, 2020

Due to the latest extension on the Kansas stay-at-home order, our stores remain closed for the time being. Donations are still being accepted, only when bins are present outside the store. Please do not leave donations if bins are not present as this is considered illegal dumping.

Donation Hours
Mon.-Sat. | 10 am – 6 pm
Sunday | 1 pm – 6 pm.

As news about COVID-19 (the Coronavirus disease) continues to spread, we wanted to assure you that Goodwill Retail Stores and Mission Services plan to remain open to our community.

Additional precautions are being taken for the safety of our customers, staff and program participants. These include:

  • Actively encouraging persons displaying any symptoms of illness to stay home until they are symptom free for at least 24-48 hours
  • Emphasizing respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene by all staff and program participants
    • Training people to cover noses and mouths with a tissue when coughing/sneezing
    • Encouraging more frequent hand-washing
  • Performing more frequent sanitation of surfaces

While we take this situation very seriously, Goodwill is more than a thrift store. Many rely on Goodwill for shopping and donating – but beyond that people look to Goodwill for employment, education services, disability services and much more.

Thank you for your continued support of Goodwill Industries of Kansas. If you should have any concerns, please feel free to share them with me.

In good health,
Molly Fox
