Hello my fellow Goodwill enthusiasts! I hope your summer has been full of barbecues, pool time, and lots of beautiful nights full of fireflies! I can’t believe I’m writing for back-to-school looks already – I’m positive that every year, time speeds up just a little more.
The good news is, there’s still a good few weeks until we head back to the classroom, which is plenty of time to hit the racks at Goodwill and save yourself some money on new school clothes. I ALWAYS shop Goodwill first for kid’s clothing needs. Almost all the children’s clothing, you can find for just $1.49 – which is a steal of a deal.
This month, I asked my kiddos to help me find some great school looks they loved, and my sweet cousin Caris and her friend April shopped for some cute “back-to- high-school looks” as well. Here’s what we found!
Charlie’s first outfit is an athletic tee by Champion paired with black sports shorts. My favorite part about this outfit is the shoes – YES! They’re from Goodwill! These shoes where in almost new condition and we bought them for just $5. If you’ve ever shopped kid’s Nike’s, you know how much we saved here!
Charlie’s next look was really cute on him; a cotton blend tee sporting his Royals pride. We paired it with straight fit jeans, and casual flip flops.
Livia’s first look is a darling cold shoulder blouse with denim jeans. We paired the look with some casual white sandals, and a side pony tail.
Henry is my handsome little cheeser! You can’t tell it from this picture, but he’s cracking himself up being silly. For this look, we went a little preppy and did a classic navy and white stripe collared shirt with denim jeans, and some adorable grey dress shoes.
Henry’s second look is simple, but still a great name-brand find. The shirt is by GAP, and I love the simplified Star Wars design! Storm Trooper for him and a nice royal blue for Mom!
Lucy is my youngest, and just too much fun to dress up! I have to put myself on a limit when looking for clothes for her. This time, we found a super cute lightweight knit dress, and paired it with some grey leggings and cowgirl boots. Maybe a little warm for July, but perfect for September!
Her next look is a comfy floral knit jumper by Old Navy. Jumpers are a great combination of cute a practical; chic enough to be stylish even on a kid, but functional enough that a kid can still be a kid in one! AND we caught this one on a 50% off tag sale today, so it was less than a dollar!
Caris is heading back to Circle High school this fall, and I loved the looks she put together. The first is a casual but classic knit top, detailed with fine stripes. She paired this loose-fitting “flowy” blouse with skinny jeans and a pair of Sperry’s. Comfy enough for class all day, but still super cute!
Her second look paired the same skinny jeans with a burnt orange tank top. The color is so great for her, and I love the detailing on the edge too!
April’s first look was a fun t-shirt with positive vibes, paired with a cute dark-wash jean and sandals. Again, I love the contrast of the loose-fitting tee with form-fitting jeans! It always feels flattering. AND I am a fan of burgundy on a strawberry blonde! It’s not a combination I would have thought of, but I really love the two together.
April’s second look was a really sweet floral denim dress. I love dresses that can be comfy and still dressy all at the same time. This dress does both, and with such a nice pop of color!
Whew!! That’s a lot of pictures for you this month!! And still just a fraction of what you can find at your local Goodwill. Have fun picking up all your pencils, erasers, and glue sticks, but before you pay sticker-price for new school clothes, shop Goodwill first!
