Budget-friendly Summer Finds

Hello, Goodwill shoppers! How is your Kansas summer so far? I am enjoying the summer breeze, the cool mornings and yard work – give me a free Saturday along with some flowers to plant in a garden, and I’m a happy camper!

One of my favorite parts about shopping at Goodwill in the summer is that it is so easy to update my whole closet relatively cheap. If you’ve never shopped the women’s blouse and tank sections at your local Goodwill, summer is the season to do it! You can find CUTE tops and tanks from $2-$4! That’s cheaper than clearance at the big box stores, guys! And you can put together a unique look with quality brands at Goodwill.

This month, I wanted to show you some great tops I found to update my summer closet and a fun patriotic look I put together on the cheap.

First up, this super-cute-probably-my-new-favorite-blouse-ever top, paired with some comfy, balloon hem shorts. The florals in this top are so bright and vivid! It’s such a great top for a casual look with jean shorts, but you could easily tuck it into a pencil skirt and have a really put-together look as well.

Next was this fun, layered ruffle top in bright blue florals. When I first picked it out, I thought it would be way too short. But I loved the fabric and material, so I took it home. After I washed it and ironed it, it laid just perfectly! I love how flowy the fit is on this one.

This next one was so chic and simple that I just fell in love with it the minute I tried it on. I love how it draws attention to the person rather than the print by being such a simple pale blue, and the way the cut accentuates the shoulder and arms is one of my favorite things about it. This was also my husband’s favorite of all the tops I bought!

The last look was a fun attempt at putting together a patriotic-themed outfit for July. I found the blouse first and immediately loved how the broad stripes played against the fitted cut. I wanted to accentuate the fitted top without being overly uncomfortable (think, lots of room for seconds on potato salad without looking bloated!) so I added a high-waisted belt and a flowy red peasant skirt to balance it out. And the shoes!! I love these shoes! They’re ridiculous and way too high and uncomfortable – but they are so pretty! Michael Kors knows what he doing. He’s definitely not a podiatrist, but when it comes to fashion, he knows what he’s doing!

I hope your summer is filled with family, sunshine, cool morning breezes and fashion that makes you feel happy! Happy shopping friends! Catch you next month!
