Cozy Up to Winter Sweaters & Scarves

That crisp little chill in the air, a latte in your hand and a cozy scarf… Hello again, cool weather! And, hello my fellow Goodwill enthusiasts! I always love putting together looks for winter at Goodwill, because I can save so much money and you really can’t go wrong with a cozy sweater and a cute scarf.  I can always find a lot of those items at Goodwill. Here are a few of the looks I put together this month at Goodwill:

This first look was stepping a little outside the box for me as I’m not really a “poncho person” when it comes to personal fashion. But as soon as I tried this one on, I was sold! It’s like wearing a warm blanket all day long. I paired the black sweater with a light white undershirt. I found a cute pair of skinny jeans, which I cuffed just above some brown ankle boots.

My next look used the same outfit basics, but I switched the poncho for a great woven cardigan. The fun thing about this find was that the cardigan was brand new (tags still on from Target!)

My last look was probably my favorite – the ever-popular warm sweater and cute scarf combo! What I liked about this pairing was the play of white against color and the busy pattern against solid color. When you’re putting together a scarf combo, first choose a color that compliments your skin tone and hair color. The scarf will be close to your face, and a color that looks good on you will frame your natural beauty. Next, consider how the scarf and top work together. Try to avoid pattern on pattern and work to find either similar or complimentary colors. I like how the pink adds a bright pop of color to this whole look. Also, I almost didn’t try on this sweater because it wasn’t a fitted one, but I’m so glad I did. Just a reminder to never let the look of a piece on the hanger stop you from trying it on.

Thanks for reading with me this month everybody! Have a great time putting together all your cozy winter looks!
