Summer Fashions: Simple, Sassy and Vintage Looks

image description

Hey everybody! How is the Kansas heat treating you? Not too bad here! My husband Caleb and I have four little kiddos all six and under, so we opt for the kiddie pool in the back yard instead of the city pool – which helps temper the general craziness of taking them places. But I will brave a Goodwill shopping trip with the small ones! Just because the deals are too sweet!

This month, I put together a couple summer looks. I found some great heels and picked up a cute swimsuit to boot. Here’s my haul!

Simple Sundress

My first look was a simple and cute sundress in a light blue cotton. Something about a blue cotton sundress just screams Kansas summer to me, so I had to grab it. I went with a little subtle patriotism and paired the dress with some bright red accents. And to top it off, I found possibly the cutest wedges ever!

These wedges are by Aerosoles and are super comfy! I picked them up for just $6. They may be my new favorite shoes.

Sassy Shorts

My next look was so fun to put together! The top is a white cotton tank by Old Navy and the fun shorts are by Mossimo. I loved the contrast of white against the bright pattern. It was such a fun balance and a great play of color and pattern. The shoes were a great bonus find AND they matched the orange in the shorts perfectly!

Polka Dot Vintage

My last look was a little daring but too cute to pass up! I found this polka dot vintage swimsuit at the Andover Goodwill store. They have such a great selection to shop through and I was so surprised to find one that fit me great.  I bought the swimsuit for just $4. At a department store, I would have easily paid $20 or more for a cute suit like this.

Well, happy hot August my fellow shoppers! And remember, if it’s too hot outside, they always have the air conditioning on at your friendly neighborhood Goodwill!
