Three Ways to Style Jeggings

Hello my fellow Goodwill enthusiasts! I *may* have a small addiction to fashion… and I confess that now. But thanks to Goodwill, I can satisfy my fashion cravings and still stay on a budget. This month, I wanted to find a few different ways to style this great pair of jeggings (the cool way to say leggings that look like jeans) that I found at my local Goodwill. So here you go!

The Classic-Classy Sweater

Leggings and a great sweater are such great friends! Especially during winter in Kansas when you want to look cute, but you have to retain some sort of physical warmth from your clothes to survive. The sweater that I found falls just perfectly – and may I strongly recommend trying on the “loose fitting” sweaters before you buy them. I don’t know why, but the cut and weave of some fabrics can make some sweaters just fit weird – so make sure you try it on first and make sure it fits you just right. This sweater is a dark purple with some gold metallic thread woven in. Usually I don’t like too much metallic in a sweater, but this one was done in such a classy way, that it worked really well. I accessorized the look with a modern, gold pendant necklace, and finished the look with some nude pumps. You could easily make this look more casual with some great boots, but I loved how the heals instantly dressed up the jeggings.

The Flirty Floral

You can still pull out all those great little day dresses in the winter – and here’s how; jeggings. This look works the best with knee length dresses or long blouses. The one that I found is a satiny smooth black shirt-dress, with some bright pops of color from the floral design. I paired the dress with some warm, faux leather boots, and the same jeggings from look number one. This look is casual enough for a night out to dinner or great for business casual as well.

The Vintage

I love a sweet and pretty vintage throw-back look! And when I found this cute peach blouse with the vintage collar, I couldn’t wait to put this look together. When you find a great vintage piece, I think that half the fun is accessorizing it with things that re-emphasize the era you’re trying to embrace. For this look, I used a triple-barrel curling iron to put my hair into an up-do reminiscent of the 30’s or 40’s – and by doing that, I accentuated the cute vintage cut of the blouse. I finished this look with some heels just to keep it classy and cute and the same wonderful jeggings from the first two looks.

The legging look is so versatile, and the great thing about styling it at Goodwill is that you can stretch your dollar to help you try lots of different things. Thanks for reading friends and happy shopping!
