New Year, New You

Get Your Fitness Gear at Goodwill

Happy New Year friends! I hope you had such a wonderful holiday season, and enjoyed family, good friends, and good food. Now…it’s time to work all that good food off. Which CAN BE a fun thing! I promise!

I read an article once that stuck with me. It said that if you buy yourself cute new workout gear, it would be a little easier to get motivated to workout. Basically, you’re looking forward to sporting your new stuff and less focused on the work in front of you. When I first read it, I thought it was pretty gimmicky. Then, my sweet husband bought me a new pair of cute tennis shoes for my birthday, and I found out that there was a little truth to the new-gear idea.

So new workout gear is fun and all – but it can be pretty pricey. Even off-brand workout clothes can clear out your wallet quickly. Enter the hero of the day – Goodwill!

If you’re ready to kick up your workout routine, may I suggest making your first stop at your local Goodwill. If you spend some time in the sweats and warm-up section, you can find great tights and workout pants and shorts. I’ve also found some pretty great warm-up pullover tops that are perfect for a morning run.

Also, take some time to look through the tank-top section. Often, there are a lot of great workout tops there, and ALSO in the short-sleeve blouse section.

And PLEASE don’t leave the store until you take a gander at the shoe section! While I was shopping for this month’s looks, I found an almost new pair of Brooks Flow 5 running shows for $10. This shoe retails new for $60! And I can’t tell you how many times I have found great deals on Nike shoes for my husband and my kids as well.

SO – get in gear to workout, shop your local Goodwill and find some fantastic new clothes! Happy January, and happy shopping!
