Shopping for Men’s Looks at Goodwill

image description

Shopping for guys is hard. I don’t care if you’re at the most expensive department store, or a garage sale – I just feel like there’s so much less variety in men’s clothing (no offense guys) so it limits the looks you can put together. But don’t let that stop you! For all my shoppers out there – accept the challenge and start at Goodwill!

This month, I had the privilege of dressing my Dad and my husband. And a big thank you to both for going along with me and being such helpful models. For my Dad, I went with a business look. Something that he could easily wear to work, church or out to dinner. When I look for dress shirts at Goodwill, the first thing on my list is quality. This shirt was in excellent shape! No signs of wear and tear, nice heavy material, and clean collar. Look for the shirts that feel new for the best deals – and you will be surprised how many shirts you will come across with the tags still on them.

I went with a cool light blue to compliment my Dad’s warmer skin tones. To finish the look, we paired it with light khakis and a dark brown leather belt.

For my husband – I pushed his fashion limits just a bit! Caleb generally likes the clothes that are simpler – no daring trendy additions or loud patterns – but when I saw this shirt I just new it would look so good on him! The shirt is a lightweight cotton in dark navy with a white design. On the shoulders, there are small strap additions held with a button, and on the front, the pockets tip the pattern a bit to mix it up. The great thing about it is that it works as a casual look and also a dressy look. We paired it with dark jeans for a dressier look – but you could easily leave it unbuttoned and pair it with a grey t-shirt and some contrasting shorts for an easy casual look.

And the find of the week was a pair of almost brand new Sperry’s for Caleb! I paid $23 for them at Goodwill instead of their retail price of $95.00. Feelin’ pretty good about that one!

Thanks for reading and happy summer shopping!
