Create an Eclectic Holiday Table

October is gone and all I can think about is CHRISTMAS!!! It’s always so much fun to get together with friends and family over the next two months and just be thankful for each other and the year we’ve been given. I have to admit, even though I always stress myself out, having people over for dinner around the holidays is one of my favorite things to do. The crisp air outside and all the wonderful holiday food are only rivalled by the beautiful decorations and lovely tables. But this year – I have a fun holiday hack for you to make that table super cute and unique on a budget!

If you’ve never shopped the housewares department at your local Goodwill store – now’s the time! There are always so many pretty dish sets for sale as well as individual and antique pieces. So my thought for this year was to put together an eclectic table setting for each guest by shopping the housewares department.

I was able to put together three looks easily, with so many more options! I found a romantic country setting with an antique blue salad plate to really set it off, a modern look with a brilliant red ceramic finish, and a quirky vintage look with an impossibly cute owl mug!

The dishes in housewares are usually marked under a dollar a piece and you can even find complete sets for discount deals. The modern red set that I pulled pieces from was only $13.50 for a 15 piece set! And when the holidays are over, just donate all the extra pieces you don’t need back to Goodwill and support some amazing programs in your own community!

So shop your local housewares section and get creative! You can set a one of a kind table this holiday season that your guests won’t forget!
