A Lovely Little Secret: Fab Finds at Goodwill

image description

Just last week, a co-worker asked me where I found my cute outfit. I could have told her that the top was from Banana Republic, and the shoes were patent leather pumps from Target, and the turquoise beads were from a local shop – and that would all have been true. But I didn’t go to one of those stores to put my look together. I found all those brands at my local Goodwill store. I promise you dear reader, you can find all the top name brands at your local Goodwill store. The price makes it so sweet too. Next time you shop there, do a quick online search for the pieces that you find – and I promise you, you will be impressed with how much you saved.

February is a month for love and one of the things I LOVE about Goodwill are all the cute name brand dresses that I come across every week. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve even come across dresses that still have the tags on them with their original prices – and that makes the little $5.99 Goodwill price tag even sweeter.

I wanted to share a few looks that I put together for a Valentine’s Night out and hopefully they will send you out shopping as well.

LBD

This first look is the classic little black dress. This Lauren Conrad dress is just so simple and sweet, and I love the versatility of it. Pair it with a jacket, fun jewelry, great shoes and it works for any special occasion. I paired this look with some red patent leather stilettos that just scream Valentine’s, red beads, and some darling red heart earrings.

Flirty in Fuchsia

The next look was really fun to put together. A trendy fuchsia dress that zips in the front, paired with modern nude patent leather pumps, and the cream on top – a cute glitzy headband that just makes the whole thing work. I love how this is flirty and young, a little bit daring when it comes to the headband, but a perfect mix with the understated dress.

Romantic Vintage

This last dress was just so sweet and romantic I had to pick it up. It’s a coral cotton dress shirt dress with a print of little blue flowers all over. It has a definite throw-back vintage look – but that’s what makes it so endearing. I paired the look with nude patent leather pumps and a coral polka-dot headband.

So this valentine’s day, whether you’re going out with that special someone, or a night with the girls, shop for your look at Goodwill! Save your cash for dinner and surprise everyone with your lovely little secret when they ask where you found that gorgeous dress.
